Individually assessed transactions

A surety guarantee for the non-standardised loan/guarantee facilities of credit institutions can be applied for by submitting an individual application for a surety guarantee. In this case, Garantiqa undertakes surety under the normal procedure, following an individual assessment.

These loan/guarantee transactions are generally linked to the financing of enterprise investments, current asset developments, specific projects or the maintenance of general business operations in cases where the business risks are higher than average and/or there is a lack of sufficient collateral.

Garantiqa evaluates the applications from the aspects of business risk. When assessing business risks, it factors in a company’s market position, future prospects, the competitiveness of its products/services, the company’s past performance and expected debt servicing capacity based on its balance sheet and business plan. The owners’ commitment to the company is of crucial importance, alongside the assessment of the owners’ willingness to take pecuniary and financial risks.

Garantiqa also supports the access of start-ups/project companies to credits, assessing such companies on the basis of their business plan.

For loan/bank guarantee transactions that carry a special risk or for the financing of a particularly large project, Garantiqa is ready to issue an opinion on the possible undertaking of a surety guarantee as part of the bank’s decision-preparation process.

In the case of individually assessed transactions, Garantiqa has 7 working days for the assessment according to its Business Regulations.

It decides on the eligibility of an application by assessing the risk factors. It notifies the credit institution of its decision by fax or electronically, which means an irrevocable commitment on its part in the case of an approved application. It may also stipulate conditions for the surety guarantee, or make an offer to provide a smaller amount of surety guarantee in the case of accumulated risks.

Guarantee limit

In the context of the co-operation agreements, Garantiqa undertakes surety guarantees on credit contracts of max. HUF 300 million, with the amount of the surety guarantee capped at HUF 150 million, however the aggregate value of individually assessed transactions may be higher than this amount based on the provisions pertaining to subsidies provided along with a surety guarantee.
